Hi Readers...need your opinion on the black background of my blog. Does it hurt your eyes to read the colorful font against the black background? I love how it looks, but it makes my eyes feel weird. Anyone else feeling it?
January 2009--Encouraged by friends who were adopting from Ethiopia, we began thinking, praying and researching our responsibility to help those who cannot help themselves.
April 2009--Begin to explore foster care and adopting from the foster care system. Meet with licensing worker from DCFS.
July 2009--Begin 9 week PRIDE training classes for foster care license.
August 2009--Get physicals, fingerprints, visits with licensing worker, complete PRIDE training...confirmed to us throughout this process that we definitely want to adopt...not just foster at this point in our family's life. We want to provide a place of permenance for a child.
September 2009--Decide to start the process of adopting a beautiful waiting little boy in Ethiopia. Apply with CHI, accepted! Find homestudy agency...start the paperchase!
October 2009--Switch homestudy agencies (14th), apply for passports (22nd), mail I-600A (22nd).
November 2009--Receive our I-797C in the mail (2nd)! M's passport arrives (9th)! G's passport arrives (12th)! First interview with homestudy social worker (12th). Receive our fingerprint appt. in the mail (16th)! Mel's individual interview with social worker (18th). Greg's individual interview with social worker (20th).
December 2009--Last homestudy visit with social worker (5th). Biometric fingerprints in Indianapolis (9th).
January 2010--First draft of homestudy done (18th), homestudy approved by CHI (27th), referral!!! (28th)
February 2010--Homestudy sent to DCFS (8th), officially accepted referral (19th)
March 2010--Approval letter from DCFS (15th), homestudy and approval letter sent to USCIS (16th).
April 2010--Received I-171H in the mail (7th)!! Sent dossier for authenitication (13th), dossier to Ethiopia (22nd)!!!
May 2010--Court date assigned for June 9th (13th)!
June 2010--Court date rescheduled for 28th (9th). Passed court on the 28th!!!!
July 2010--Embassy date scheduled for August 31st and then rescheduled for August 3rd. Yikes--gotta get busy!
August 2010--We met Fikremariam on Monday, August 2nd and brought him home on August 6th!
I like how it looks, too, but it does hurt my eyeballs a bit.
