Ch-ch-changes

It's been a whirlwind of a week in the Ethiopian adoption community. Last Monday, we were notified of an additional document that is now needed that may or may not add time to the process of bringing our baby home. And then two days later we hear news of a policy change in ET adoption requiring adoptive parents to be at the court hearing in Ethiopia in person! Previously a representative from the adoption agency would stand in proxy for the adoptive parents at the court hearing, requiring only one trip to ET 2-3 months after court to bring the child home. So, it's been a bit to process...and more money to try and gather.

But I feel peace about it all...and hello, who wouldn't want to go to Africa twice in one year? Who wouldn't want to have that much more time in their child's birth country to soak in the culture, the sights, sounds, smells as much as we can to one day share with our boy? The money, the time off work, the arrangements for Aidan and Ava will all work out...I just know it will because God is used to doing BIG things...that's how He operates! I've been realizing how my default is to think so small...so confined by what *I* can figure out. But anything significant in history has been done by people who weren't willing to be limited by what they could see at the moment...they were inspired to overcome obstacles by "what could be". The day after we got the news about the new 2 trip policy, this song was on the radio as I clicked it on. Love the lyrics...yes, He's been doing BIG THINGS since the world began!
